The Fat Prepper and Survivalist.

So, I was a Marine from 2004-2008, with 2 tours in Iraq. I was in pretty good shape back then. When I got out, I stopped running, and working out tapered out. Went to college and worked full time, had 2 kids, and became fat and lazy. Did you know getting fat will also make you shorter? I gained about 70 lbs, and lost 2 inches of height. This was over the coarse of the last 11 years. I have, at times, dropped weight. At one point, I lost 39 lbs in 6 weeks. This was done by eating oatmeal for breakfast, and chicken and broccoli for lunch. That was it, and drinking water, only water. The problem with this is that it is not really feasible long term because I like flavor, I love eating a variety of food.

So know I am starting a project, I call it project Valhalla. I learned of Valhalla from history, and realized that America, and the media is trying to weaken the society by coining terms such as toxic masculinity and trying to make men and women indistinguishable from one another in terms of traits and behaviors. The problem with this train of thought is that when you try to put animals in cages, they will eventually strike. Think about tigers trained in a zoo. They tend to, on occasion, fight back. I wish to resist the train of thought we are being coerced into, making men men again. I have fallen into the trap, falling into becoming fat an lazy over the last decade.

So, a shift in diet, starting exercising again. I know it will be a slow process, adjusting back to an efficient body, using food as fuel instead of treats, and becoming strong again, as I once was. This is probably the most important step in self discovery, and one for prepping and survival. I say that because the world we knew is already long gone, and what is coming, in my opinion, is going to be bad. I am not talking apocalyptic or anything to that nature, but the world is changing, and not for the better. If the time arises where we must survive, where a war front is on our home land, we must be prepared for battle. The Carmel Macchiato sipping desk jockey isn’t going to do it, nor is the 500 lb fast food diet fellow wheeling around walmart. It is up to us, with the desire burning inside to build ourselves up. I know I have what it takes. I have done it before. I let life get in the way, and I will not be allowing that excuse to get in the way anymore. We must train ourselves for battle because the reality is, everyday is a battle. Be it a war, heart disease, or a personalized SHTF, the stronger we are, the more resilient we can be. I am currently sitting here behind my laptop sitting at about 260# at 6 ft tall. By the end of the year, I will be below 200lbs, and much stronger than I am currently. I ask you, anyone taking the time to read this post, and following post, to take the initiative, and let this life become your Valhalla. Train as we come together, learning about prepping for us ordinary folks, those of us working a minimum 40 hour week, dedicate even a couple hours a week to your fitness, a few bucks to your diet. Make the change for the better as I am doing, starting with todays first post.

America is a country based on United we stand, Divided we fall. Where are we now? Think about that as we head into the future. There will be things here you will agree with, and those you will not. Either way, keep it friendly, and support yourself with legitimate points. We are here together for a common goal.
