As previously discussed, I feel like our country will be completely divided here in 2020. No matter who wins the election, half the country will be pissed off. Here is my idea behind country division as an experiment.
West of the Mississippi river will be a country called Liberal Land. This is a country where Biden is president, and the government follows all the Liberal beliefs, like UBI and free health care for all. East of the Mississippi river will be the United States of America. This is a country where people work for what they want. If they want more, they work harder to earn what they want. If you work less, you have less. This is where Trump is president.
Liberal Land start to fail early on, because people are getting paid whether they work or not, so why work? Then, as incentives to work, the minimum wage is now $15/hour. Per common sense in economics, increasing the minimum wage first without a booming economy causes inflation. Moving forward, the UBI payments will have to increase to keep up with the rate of inflation due to the living wage payments made by the government. Soon, a loaf of bread costs $300, and your UBI payments are not $30,000/month. The country is failing, following the same hyper inflation as Zimbabwe has.
Meanwhile, in the United States of America, people are working, utilizing government funding only for times of injury or job loss. Job loss is virtually 0, as people want to work. job growth will develop as even uneducated workers become skilled in their form of labor. Inflation does occur, because in a booming economy, minimum wage rate will increase, prices will go up following the supply and demand curves, and a new equilibrium will be found. Inflation will be small compared to Liberal Land, and people will all be doing well, as in no one will be below the poverty line.
This is a very basic explanation, to me, about how the 2 political parties are so divided that they would run completely different countries. The party lines are so far apart that they cannot see eye-to-eye anymore. I am, generally conservative, with some bits of liberal thrown in. This all depends on the topic. I believe the government bodies need to almost have a third party to act as an arbitrator between the 2 sides until they close the gap. I also believe that we are now to far gone to be repaired before self-destruction is done.
That being said, I hope for the best, and prepare for the worst. I can say that I feel like the saying “The road to hell is paved with the best of intentions” certainly shows what liberals/Democrats could do. I don’t think they mean any malice, and I truly believe that, for the most part, they think they are pushing things that will better our country. The sad part is they are blinded to historical data and facts. That, and things from years past like cow farts become ridiculous and does not help the long term goals of unity.
If you see the title of this writing, and see the position our country is in, I believe this to be true. United we stand, divided we fall. We are failing as a nation, and we have never been so divided. News has become something of a drama instead of a anything factual.
