With so much going on, it is hard to focus on any individual issue that has arisen. I watched a youtube video about changing over to a digital currency instead of a cash system. I mean, realistically, it seems like we are half way there with our debit cards. There are problems that arise from a completely cashless system, but that is not my area of expertise nor does that really bother me at the moment.
The thing that I noticed that has me befuddled is the fact that, in my little one horse town, we have exactly 1 gas station. I would call it out 1 convenient store, but that is a stretch. Anyways, this one gas station has exactly 1 ATM. This ATM, at some point in the last couple of weeks, now has the ability for you to purchase bitcoin on it. I am assuming this has something to do with the being able to purchase partial shares, which was a change relatively recently.
I just do not see the point of purchasing stock/bit coin on an ATM, and especially in some rinky dink little town. I also feel that, in this pandemic economy with unemployment being high (locally) that this would not make sense. However, perhaps it is a way for these big corporations to make money off of all the people making all this money on unemployment. Some need it and some are taking advantage. I just wanted to put this out there.
